SBA Assessors

NABCP partnerships are accredited to ensure that they maintain standards of management and operation and comply fully with current data protection legislation and guidance.  Accreditation takes place every two years and all partnerships are expected to achieve and maintain that standard.  This provides their members, police and other agencies with the confidence that personal data is being managed professionally and that the sharing of intelligence about the activities of local and travelling offenders will only be used for the purposes of the prevention and detection of crime and the prosecution of offenders.

 

There are four regionally-based SBA assessors to carry out this important function for NABCP as follows:

 

 

North West and Yorkshire: Steve Booth

Steve was the business crime manager for Southport Business Against Crime from its inception in 1998 until 2004, when he joined Action Against Business Crime as their regional manager with responsibility for the North West, North East and Northern Ireland. In 2008 Steve returned to Southport as town centre manager, a position which he held until 2013. He currently works as an operations manager in the private sector.

London and East of England: John Whatling

John worked for the Oxford Street Association as CCTV manager from 1998 – 2000 and then as the crime manager for the Oxford Street Association ‘Street Eye’ business crime programme until 2005.  He then became manager of Bexleyheath Townsafe until 2011 when he joined NABCP as regional assessor for London and the East of England.

 

 


 

 

South West and South Wales: Paul Cox

Paul worked in the security industry for 20 years in various roles both in the public and private sectors and has worked in the retail sector for various companies including the Co-op, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and independent retailers.  He has been involved with Bath BCRP since 2008 and took over as crime manager nearly three years ago. He is also a member of the independent advisory group for the local policing area in Bath.

Sophie is the crime manager for the Gravesham partnership (G SAFE) in Kent, where she has worked since 2011. Prior to this, Sophie worked on the 2011 Census for the Office of National Statistics and spent 4 years as a civil servant within central government in westminster.

East Midlands: David Wilson

David became the business crime manager for Mansfield Safer Business Partnership in 2006.  MSBP became

part of the Mansfield BID in 2010 and renamed the Mansfield BID BCP. David is Chair of Partnerships Against Business Crime In the Midlands which recently integrated into the NABCP regional structure representing East and West Midlands. Prior to becoming a BCP manager David served 35 years with Nottinghamshire Police retiring as a superintendent.
